As an avid music lover, the monarch was especially fascinated by piano concerts of an aspiring artist: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Bestowing contracts upon Mozart for years, Joseph II opened the way for him to become one of the greatest composers in music history – and thus Joseph II entered history not only as the “Reform Emperor“ but also as one of the most important promoters and patrons of Mozart. The writing instruments of the Joseph II Limited Edition reflect the delicate features of the royal crest ornaments. The design is inspired by the imperial coat of arms of the monarch, which is immortalized as a fine engraving on the rhodium-coated Au 750 solid gold nib. The clip of the Edition 888 is crowned with a sapphire and pays a veritable royal tribute to the eponym of this edition.
